$0 down payment. Eligible VA purchase loans can be structured with no down payment. Cash to close can still include the funding fee, taxes, insurance, and other costs.
No PMI. VA loans do not require monthly private mortgage insurance. The VA funding fee is a separate cost. Exemptions may apply to qualifying recipients of VA disability compensation, certain surviving spouses receiving DIC, and qualifying active-duty Purple Heart recipients.
